President of Mexico introduces bill to the House of Representatives to amend the Hydrocarbons Law

Learn more about the initiative presented by the President of the Mexican Republic to the Chamber of Deputies, to reform and add various provisions of the Hydrocarbons Law.

The explanatory statements to the Bill allude to an alleged damage caused to the energy sector in the "neoliberal period", as a result of the approval of the Energy Reform. It mentions as well that, although there is no doubt about the leading role that Petróleos Mexicanos should play, elements of corruption within such company have had repercussions on the country's energy efficiency. Therefore, the Bill aims at strengthening State-owned companies, including Petróleos Mexicanos, through several amendments to the HL.
