Carlos Orcí is recognized leader in Latin America competition/antitrust law because of his expertise and strong bonds with the various antitrust authorities, judges, lawyers, and economists, as well experts in regulated sectors in the region.
Among his exclusive tools, Mr. Orcí has developed a high-end technology system to address companies’ competition/antitrust needs.
Carlos has advised companies in Mexico in landmark competition/antitrust matters on behalf of national and international clients regarding merger control procedures; as well as in defending companies facing investigations on monopolistic practices. He has also advised clients during investigations related to essential facilities and barriers to entry conducted by the Federal Economic Competition Commission (Cofece) and the Federal Telecommunications Institute (Ifetel) and challenged governmental resolutions against the federal courts.
He also has extensive experience on auctions, obtaining concessions, and conducting administrative procedures before the Communications and Transport Ministry, Ifetel and the Foreign Investments Commission, among many other matters.
Mr. Orcí’s experience spans a wide range of industries, including technology, media and telecommunications, banking/financial services, aviation, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, mining, maritime, railways, transport, consumer products, and automotive sectors.
