Our Environment Practice helps companies implement preventive measures by developing compliance programs and legal strategies aimed at minimizing risk and environmental liability, and frequently advises clients on due diligence, contractual negotiations, environmental consulting and internal legal audits.
Our Environmental Practice Group is particularly well known for its defense capabilities in collective judicial proceedings and enforcement actions by environmental authorities, social organizations and individuals under the Federal Environmental Liability Act, as well as environmental crimes investigations and proceedings initiated by federal and state prosecutors. Our expertise includes administrative, class action and criminal litigation and defense in corporate liability matters associated to environmental harm and conflicts.
Our team specializes in the solution of environmental conflicts through alternative and restorative justice in cases of industrial accidents, pollution and toxic torts, damage caused by real estate and infrastructure projects, as well as harm to habitat, wildlife and ecosystems.

Members of our Environmental team have broad experience in both public and private sectors. The Head of the team acted as Head of the Specialized Prosecutor´s Office for Environmental Crimes at the federal Department of Justice and General Counsel for the Environmental Protection Agency (PROFEPA).
