CRE publishes new Grid Code

On December 31st, 2021, the Energy Regulatory Commission published the resolution RES/550/2021 in the Official Gazette of the Federation whereby new General Administrative Provisions containing the criteria for efficiency, quality, reliability, continuity, safety and sustainability of the national electricity system: the Grid Code are issued, repealing the Grid Code published on April 8, 2016 through resolution number RES/151/2016.

Like its pervious version, the new Grid Code aims at establishing the obligations in charge of the users of the National Electricity Grid (the “Grid”) that carry out planning, operation, modernization, control, interconnection, and connection activities, in order to ensure the operation, development, access and use of the Grid under conditions that promote the continuity and quality of the electricity supply.
